Wilson S. “Bill” Schaeffer Jr., 81, of Black Bear Reserve, Eustis, Fl., passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 8:24pm at Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care Home, Tavares, Florida with his family at his side. He was the husband of Jayne L. (Moyer) Schaeffer, with whom he celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on August 24th. Having lived in Florida for the past 8 years, he was formerly from the Pottstown, PA area. He was born in Norristown, PA to the late Wilson S. and Kathryn (Butler) Schaeffer. He served in the US Navy onboard the USS Boston during the Korean War. He was an industrial electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electricians Local 380 where he served and chaired on the Executive Board, was past owner of Schaeffer’s Restaurant and Motel and helped his wife with her business, Lady Jayne’s Special Touch. After retirement he moved to Florida where he enjoyed golfing and being an active member of LifePoint Church, Eustis. Surviving, in addition to his wife are Sons Chris A., husband of Lisa (Williams) Schaeffer of Birdsboro, PA, Rodney A., husband of Lenka (Koloma) Schaeffer, Laguna Niguel, CA, and one daughter Lucinda J, wife of Anthony M Hanna, Eustis, FL, 13 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 18 step great -grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William S., husband of Helena (Reyes) Schaeffer. Military graveside services will held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, on Friday, December 1st at 2:30pm.
