Wilma Jean Cavey Van Horn, age 92 passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Blue Haven Assisted Living Facility, Leesburg, Florida where she was a resident for 2 months. She was born June 5, 1923 Trimble Township, Athens, Ohio to Clarence Albert White and Vera Lee Kasler White. She graduated from Ames-Bern High School in 1941 and shortly after married Forest Wayne Cavey and moved to Dayton, Ohio where she made her home until she retired from the University of Dayton as a Department Supervisor and Secretary in 1983. After retirement Wilma and Forest moved to Leesburg, FL where they enjoyed the sunshine and fishing. She leaves behind two daughters, Linda L. Staley and husband (Steven) of Jamestown, Ohio and Connie J. Tinsey of Leesburg, Florida; a sister, Arlene M. Champe of Jacksonville, Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband Forest after 49 years of marriage and former husband Nolan J. Van Horn, A brother Neal Kasler White of Dayton and brother Lee Dalton White of Gladstone, MO. She was a 59 year member of the Eastern Star, Dayton Victory Chapter #594, Dayton, Ohio and member of the former Lisbon Baptist Church of which she volunteered a lot of her time. She leaves behind a loving family: 6 grandchildren Todd A. Bertke (Julie) of Dayton, Ohio, Terri Rials (Seth) of Columbus, Ohio, Lori Bertke of Cincinnati, Ohio, Matthew W. Templeton, Tonya L. Templeton and Brian K. Templeton all of Leesburg, Florida. Sister-in-Law, Rowena Cavey of Dayton, Ohio, and Brother-in-Law Tom R. Cavey of Celina, Ohio. 9 great grandchildren: Anastacia, Anthony(deceased), Angelo, Brittany, Abigail, Courtenai, Coilin, Christopher, Dylan, step great grandchild, Bradley, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Leesburg.
