William A. "Bill" Tidmore

April 13, 1919 — March 10, 2014

William “Bill” Tidmore, 94, of Tavares, passed into his eternal life with his Lord & Savior on March 10, 2014. Bill was born in Alabama in 1919. He is predeceased by his brother, Hugh Tidmore, sister, Dorothy Tidmore, wife, Ouida Tidmore and son Michael Tidmore.
Bill was known as a man of integrity. A loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bill's interest in electronics began in the US Army during WWII. He was a radio technician during the war. Everyone enjoyed his war stories, especially the projects he was asked to do for the President. After his Army discharge he worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Gadsden, Alabama. During this time he also had a shop behind his home where he fixed radios, televisions and just about anything else. In 1961, Bill & Ouida moved their family to Florida in order to get special medical help for their son Michael. Together they opened Tidmore Electronics in downtown Tavares. This became a family business that spanned 36 years.
His interest in amatuer radios took him on many adventures. After he retired, Ham Fests became one of his favorite things. You could often find him in his workshop doing something with his ham radio equipment. He enjoyed his friends and former customers who stopped by to visit or see if he had a part they needed.
He will be missed but we know we will see him again one day. He loved his family and prayed for each of them to have a personal relationship with his heavenly Father.
Bill is survived by his son Allan Tidmore, Tavares, daughters Sue Copeland (Don), Gadsden, Alabama, Dianne Freeze (Skip), Tavares. 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
