William L. "Bill" Harper, 86, of Eustis, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he moved to Eustis as a child in 1934 from Atlanta and graduated from Eustis High School class of 1948. Bill's family owned Harper's Clothing Stores in Eustis from 1935-1995. The Harper family began their clothing business in Eustis out of a panel truck every Friday & Saturday, selling work shirts, dungarees, work boots and overalls to local laborers. Shirts were $0.59 and overalls were $3.00. This grew into the Harper's of Eustis Clothing Store on Magnolia Avenue. He loved hunting, fishing and working in his orange groves. Bill was a former member of the Florida Citrus Growers Association and various Eustis business associations. Bill was a member of Life Community Church, Eustis and served in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Lee Harper, Pensacola Beach, FL. Services will be held at Life Community Church, Eustis on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service from 11:00 AM till 12:00 Noon.
