William A. "Bill" Scartine, 70, of Eustis, FL formerly of Newark, DE, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014. Born and raised in New Castle, DE to parents Anthony and Louise Scartine. He attended William Penn High School, in New Castle, DE prior to joining the Marine Corps and serving during the Vietnam Conflict from 1962 - 1966. After being honorably discharged he worked as an Iron Worker in Local 451. In 1990 he went to work for the Delaware River and Bay Authority until retiring in 2008. In May of 2008 he and his wife Diane moved to Eustis, FL where he enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning with his neighbors and friends. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed boating and owned several throughout his life. He also enjoyed woodworking. Bill is predeceased by his Parents; Daughter, Lori Hanna; and lifelong friend, Jackie West. He is survived by his loving and devoted Wife of 13years, Diane C. Scartine; Son, William A. "Tony" Scartine, Jr. of Wilmington, DE; Daughters Lisa Figueroa of Helena, MT and Clydia Scartine of Townsend, DE; Sister, Sarah "Toni" Meadowcroft of Middletown, DE; Step-Sons, Russell (Christina) Stanley of Smyrna, DE and Steven Stanley of Narrows, VA; 13 Grandchildren; Constant Loyal Companion, Jade Scartine the black lab mix; and also many loving friends in both Delaware and Florida. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 6:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM prior to the service. A memorial service will also be held in Delaware at the Mealey Funeral Home at a later date.
