Vivian Figlar Abalon

Vivian (Figlar) Abalon 99 of Sarasota, FL formerly of The Villages and of Mount Dora, FL passed away on December 14, 2023. She is a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Force and served at different bases including the Pentagon. She was an American Legion member for over 60 years. She was with the Honor Guard in Post 347 attending over 850 funerals where she read a farewell poem. Included in her many hobbies were sewing projects for charities, making teddy bears and dresses. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and of the Elks Club in Sarasota. She remained active until July of 2023. Her daughter, Ann Hawthorne and Granddaughter, Kristin Holm along with husband Eric Holm will miss her greatly.
