Virginia I. Nixon, 87, of Eustis, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018. Born in Buchanan, Kentucky, she moved to Eustis in 1960 from Pineville, West Virginia. She was an LPN. Virginia was very active in many local churches including First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, Grand Island Baptist Church, Grand Island, Life Community Church, Eustis, First United Methodist Church, Eustis and helped start First Baptist Church of Pine Lakes. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Loretta A. Ponder (Douglas) of Summerfield, FL, Brenda Joyce Herbst (Robert) of Saluda, NC; sister, Helen Joyce Hart (Harry) of Huntington, WV; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Ann Nixon. A Graveside Service will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
