Violette Anne Steinke

Violette Anne Steinke, 90, of Sorrento, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014. Born in Cicero, Illinois, she moved to Sorrento in 1986 from Birmingham, Alabama. She was a commercial artist prior to her retirement. Violette enjoyed baking, and collecting stamps and was a former member of the Mt. Dora Stamp Club. She also enjoyed being a pen pal, connecting with people all around the world. Violette wrote and published a book entitled Original Royal Delft Christmas Plates, which is considered by collectors and museum owners to be the definitive guide to these plates. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Steinke; parents, Ladislav and Alvina Houdek; brothers, Ronnie, John, Earl and Bruce Houdek. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law- Russell Steinke and Becky Berlin of Sorrento, FL; grandson, Daryn Berlin and great grandchildren, Eli and Zoë Berlin.
