Violeta E. Ajoy, 70, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Born in Portoviejo, Ecuador, she moved to Central FL in 1989 from Atlanta, Georgia. Violeta was hired by the Catholic Diocese of Orlando in 1989 and was assigned in Whanita taking care of the Mission of Our Lady Guadalupe. She was a pastoral assistant with the St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis from 1993 until her retirment in 2006. With her arrival the Hispanic Ministry Office of St. Mary of the Lakes was opened. She was a very integral part of the Parish and in the community. She reached out and helped many families. She was a member of the Alianza en Jesus por Maria. Violeta is survived by her Mother - Piedad C. Li of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; Brothers - Vicente Ajoy of Jonesboro, GA, Victor Ajoy of Daytona Beach, FL, Wilson Li of Atlanta, GA and William Li of Atlanta, GA and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and church family. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM with Wake Service at 7:30 PM.
