Timothy D. Carpenter, 72, of Tavares, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Born in Celina, Ohio, he moved to Winter Haven in 1955. He attended both Mount Dora Junior High and Mount Dora High School. He worked mainly as an auto mechanic but was a jack of all trades. In retirement, he worked on appliances and also for Farleys Frigeration in Astatula. Timothy was a volunteer firefighter for over 22 years for Tavares Fire Department and also helped start the Astatula Fire Department in 1976. Timothy was also a 'Great Daddy' to all his children. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Tana L. Carpenter of Tavares, FL; 2 sons, Timothy D. Carpenter II of Grand Island, FL, Travis J. Carpenter of Leesburg, FL; 2 daughters, Tonya K. (Arlie) Farley of Astatula, FL, Tracy P. (Donald) Davis of Tavares, FL; 5 sisters, Rebecca Bugbee of Mount Dora, FL, Terry Bolick of Mount Dora, FL, B.J. Horner of Sorrento, FL, Opal Kay Carpenter of Winter Haven, FL, Mary Porter of Mount Dora, FL; 8 grandchildren, Patricia, Courtney, Taylor, Montana, Bubba, Sarah, Arlie (A.J.), Mason; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, John, Levi and Duane.
