Thomas Arden Smith, 68, of Guatemala, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012. Born in Tucson, Arizona , he moved to Guatemala in the Late 1990's from Destin, Florida. He was a Aluminum Railing Contractor. Tom served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He is survived by his son, Lt. Col. Sean T. Smith, MD, Silver Spring, MD; daughter, Shannon L. Carlton, Nashville, TN; mother, Patricia J. Arneke, Mount Dora, FL; brother, Robert Craig Smith, Wildwood, FL and 7 grandchildren. Services will be held at Garden of Life Chapel at Waterman Village, Mount Dora on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
