Thomas L. Sherman

Thomas L. Sherman, 76, of Grand Island, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Umatilla in 1981 from Red Bank, New Jersey. He was a Sales Manager for SYSCO Foods, was a member of the Eustis AMVETS, the American Legion Post of Umatilla, FL and St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis. Thomas served in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Maxine M. Sherman, Grand Island, FL; son, Jimmy Sherman, York, ME; 2 step-sons, Dennis Butler, Ellsworth, ME, Macey Butler, Grand Island, FL; 2 daughters, Donna Ertle, Bayville, NJ, Deborah Monteith, Umatilla, FL; step-daughter, Vicki Osgood, Ellsworth, ME; 2 brothers, George V. Sherman, Jr., Houston, TX, Pat Sherman, Leesburg, FL; mother-in-law, Dorothy Huntley, Ridgeville, SC; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Military graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
