Thomas Daniel Proebsting, 78, of Tavares, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Tavares in 2001 from Pembroke Pines, FL. Thomas was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis, FL, The Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree Knight), the Teamsters, and of the Mid-FL Lakes Orchid Society of Leesburg. Thomas is predeceased by his son, Thomas Jr.; He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara D. Proebsting; sons, - Daniel Thomas (Carol) Proebsting of Oviedo, FL, and David Michael (Jennifer) Proebsting of Gainesville, FL; daughters, Christine (Casey) Herlihy of Windermere, FL and Michelle (Deborah) Proebsting of Gainesville, FL; brothers, John W. Proebsting of Eustis, FL, Lloyd "Skip" (Jessica) Proebsting, Jr. of Miami, FL, and William Proebsting of Umatilla, FL; sisters, Virginia Allard of San Antonio, TX, Ann (Larry) Murphy of, Lebanon, PA, Joan Greaney of Eustis, FL, and Peggy Proebsting of Eustis, FL; grandchildren, Shea, Sean, and Keegan (the one on the way). Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM with wake services at 7:30 PM.
