Thomas E. Demchar

Thomas E. Demchar, 76, of Grand Island, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016. Born in Yonkers, New York, he moved to Grand Island in 2003 from Pompano Beach, Florida. Thomas served in the US Marines during Korea and later was a Deputy Sheriff with the Broward County Sheriff's Office for 28 years. Thomas was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis. He is survived by his son, Michael Demchar, Saint Petersburg, FL; daughter, Nora Haynes, Grand Island, FL; 7 grandchildren. Interment will be at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale.
