On March 29, 2021, Theresa Verba loving wife and mother passed away at the age of 93. Theresa was born on November 25th, 1927, in New Milford, Connecticut to Julian and Mary Wojciechowski. In 1945 she married John Verba, her husband of 72 years. They raised four daughters, Alice, Carol, Nancy and Sue. They began their life together on a dairy farm. Later she owned a bakery and then went to work and retired as a telephone operator.
How she loved to get in the car and go! Whether it was visiting family, traveling, seeing the fall leaves, Christmas lights, or her favorite view of the “ugly building” on I-4. She didn’t want to miss a thing.
Although she embroidered and quilted a beautiful bedspread for each of her daughters, her greatest passion was crocheting. She was excited about making baby blankets and afghans. Every one of them were made out of pure joy and love. Each one warms you from her heart!
Our mother loved to play cards, Bingo, and WIN! She loved to tease and joke. One of her favorite things was to have her grandchildren and great grandchildren lay across her lap and tickle them with the tip of a tissue.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Edna, three brothers, Tommy, Eddie, Julian, a grandson Christopher Sloan and a great grandson John Pope.
She is survived by her four daughters and their spouses, Alice and Bill Bowen, Carol Hapanowich and David, Nancy and Carlos Gamazo, Sue and Ron Sloan, six grand children, Jennifer, Betsy, Billy, Heather, Erin, and Ryan, nine great grandchildren, Kelsey, Kara, Jaclyn, Anna, Trevor, Ryan, John, James and Emerson, many beloved nieces and nephews. She loved them all. Online Guestbook available at
