Thelma Cowart Smith, 91, of Eustis, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012. Born in Uvalda, Georgia, she moved to Eustis in 1979 from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was a Homemaker and was a member of Lake Saunders Baptist Church, Mount Dora. Thelma is survived by her husband, James R. (Jim) Smith, Eustis, FL; 3 sons, Len (Butch) Nelson, Brazoria, TX, Douglas A. Fields, Roswell, GA, Michael M. Fields, Spotsylvania, VA; 2 daughters, Lorrie Jane Nelson, Maryville, TN, Linda C. Pfannerstill, Eustis, FL; sister, Ann Y. Cox, Savannah, GA; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Anita Costa. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home monday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
