Ted Semanski, 98, of Umatilla, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. Born in New York, New York, he moved to Umatilla in 2000 from The Villages, Florida. He retired in 1980 from the Hialeah, FL Police Department as a Major. He was a law enforcement sharp shooter. Ted was a member of the Polish Club of Central Florida and loved spending his time fishing and playing tennis which he had played his entire life. Ted served his country during World War II in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Betzy Semanski, Umatilla, FL; 2 daughters, Diane Reser, Tennessee, Carol Ann Barnes, Altoona, FL; 2 step-sons, Edward Semanski, Edgewater, MD, Robert Mata, Clermont, FL; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Graveside services with Law Enforcement Honors will be held at Vista Memorial Gardens, Miami Lakes on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Online Guestbook available at
