Stephen Michael Hall

Stephen Michael Hall, 52, of Umatilla, went home to his Savior and Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020 after a long illness and complications of diabetes. Born December 2, 1967 in Eustis, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of Umatilla, graduating from Umatilla High School in with the Class of 1985. Stephen was a direct descendant of two pioneering Lake County, Florida families. Engaged in his late father's citrus grove business, he was an avid member of the University of Florida Gator Nation and a season ticket holder for over 50 years. He was a well-known voice of UF sports radio broadcasts with his regular commentary as "Umatilla Steve" with weekly conversations offered by personalities, Buddy Martin, Brady Ackerman, Greg Larson, Galen Hall, Steve Spurrier, Billy Donovan, Urban Meyer, Tom Bianchi and Mick Hubert. Stephen loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, football, baseball and most importantly his church family. He was a member of Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis, Gator Boosters Inc. and the Florida Farm Bureau. Stephen is survived by his brother, Drew Hall, Mount Dora, FL and 10 cousins. A public memorial service will be held after the Holidays. Private interment will be held at Glendale Cemetery, Umatilla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bay Street Baptist Church, 37181 State Road 19, Umatilla, FL 32784 or to the University of Florida Foundation, Post Office Box 14425, Gainesville, FL 32604.
