Sheila F. Unruh, 89, formerly of Mount Dora, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was a lifelong educator. She taught at many schools before coming to Florida, including, East Liverpool, OH Elementary School in 1952, West Deer Township, PA High School Chorus, Canfield, OH High School Chorus, Wallace Intermediate High School Chorus in Baldwin-Whitehall, PA. In 1973, she and her late husband, Ernie moved to Eustis and she taught at Mount Dora High School from 1973-1994. In addition to teaching chorus, she also led the Show Choir, Drama, Speech and Humanities. Sheila had a brief retirement, before returning to Mount Dora High School and leading their Job Training Program from 1998 - 2010. Following Mount Dora High, she was the Work Learning Coordinator for Alee Academy in Eustis from 2010 - 2015. She was previously very active with Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis directing choirs and teaching Sunday School, Leading the College & Career Classes, and the Divorce Support Class. Sheila was currently a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Sheryl Loesch (Tom Figmik), Winter Garden, FL; Susan (Dale) Moxley, Palm Coast, FL; sister, Catherine Wheaton, Cedar Rapids, IA; granddaughter, Lea Moxley, Eustis, FL; 2 nieces, Allyson Wheaton, Bethany Wheaton; nephew, Joe Wheaton. Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will have a memorial service in October at Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares.
