Sarah Holbrook Carroll, 82, of Mount Dora, passed away, after fighting the disease Progressive Super Nuclear Palsy, on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Born in Keene, New Hampshire, she moved to Florida in 2014 from Valders, Wisconsin.
Sarah is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Daniel E. Carroll of Mount Dora, FL; 3 sons, Robert Carroll of New Holstein, WI, George (Panida) Carroll of Bangkok, Daniel (Tracy) Carroll, Jr. of Seekonk, MA; 2 daughters, Diane Hoffman of Shawano, WI, Pamela Rivas of Eustis, FL; brother, Thomas Holbrook of Keene, NH, 3 sisters - Carol Brown of Jupiter, FL, Cynthia Sivonen of Sunlakes, AZ, Martha LaFleur of Greenland, NH; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Sarah was an avid button collector and will miss her good friends of the Button Buds Club in Manitowoc County Wisconsin.
During her career years, Sarah started as an Assistant Buyer with Jordan Marsh Company in Boston Ma. When Sarah moved to Chicago she was busy raising her children. When the family moved to Wisconsin Sarah and her husband were owners of Carroll Grocery Store, sporting goods, and general store on Shawano Lake Wisconsin.
Later Sarah opened a child care center in Shawano and was very happy working with young children, a real passion. While in the Shawano area Sarah was active in local affairs including a time as a Shawano County Board Supervisor.
The family later moved to Valders Wisconsin and Sarah became director of Wee Friends Child Care in Chilton Wisconsin. Sarah and her husband opened a furniture repair and restoration business in St Nazianz Wi where they also sold antiques.
In 2014 Sarah and her husband decided it was time to retire and moved to Florida. She loved her time in Florida near their daughter and grandchildren.
