Ruth L. Shearer

Ruth L. Shearer, 92 of the Waterman Village at Bridgewater in Mount Dora, Fl, and formerly of Hanover, PA, died Saturday, August 11, 2012. Born May 16, 1920 in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late Milton G. and Mary E. (Eckard) Hesson. Ruth was the loving wife of the late Stewart A. Shearer who died February 18, 2006. Ruth was a member of Lake Eustis Christian Church, Eustis, FL, a member of the Bell Choir at Waterman Village-Bridgewater, and a former member of Lohr’s Memorial United Methodist Church in Hanover before moving to Florida.
Ruth worked as a Parts Clerk for Cooper Motors for 19 years. Ruth is survived by two sons, Clyde E. Shearer and wife Audrey of Mt. Dora, FL, Paul Shearer of Canton, GA, several grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Carl R. Shearer, a twin sister, Naomi Hesson, a sister, Rosella Wine, two brothers, Raymond Hesson and William Hesson.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Ruth’s life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Sager/Nace officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 – 11 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions sin memory of Ruth may be made to the Missions Department of Lake Eustis Christian Church, 315 E. Orange Avenue, Eustis, FL 32726.
