Rose Reedy Kirkland

Rose Reedy Kirkland, of Whitesburg, Kentucky, wife of F. Paul Kirkland departed this life for her heavenly home on Thursday, February 22 at the Northpoint Healthcare in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born May 20, 1928 in Amburgey, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Emery and Arminda Reedy.

Mrs. Kirkland was a housewife and dedicated mother. She was an active member of member of First Baptist Church in Whitesburg, Kentucky, having been baptized on January 22, 1967. Her life long passions were her church and her children. She worked at the Whitesburg Food Pantry, the Whitesburg ARH Ladies Auxiliary, and also worked in the nursery at the First Baptist Church. She loved to bowl and fish.

Survivors include two sons; Emory (Judy) Kirkland of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Wade Kirkland of Rossville, Georgia. Two daughters; Carol (Andy) Withrow of Lexington, Kentucky and Pauly (Landy) McCormick of Ooltewah, Tennessee. Six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. One brother, Gillis (Marie) Reedy of Isom, Kentucky.
