Robert M. Updike

Robert Montgomery Updike, 87, of Eustis, passed on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Born in New York City, NY, he moved from Massapequa, Long Island, New York to Eustis, FL in 1971 and then to Leesburg, FL in 1991. He was the past Owner/Operator of the Eustis Flower Shop and was retired from Pan American World Airways as the Assistant Director of Corporate Insurance and Claims. He served with New York's Historic Seventh Regiment and was an exempt member of the Massapequa Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a past President of the Eustis Chamber of Commerce and served on the Eustis City Planning and Zoning Commission. A life-long active Episcopalian, he was a Member and Vestryman of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Fruitland Park, FL. He is survived by his Wife, Nedra D. Updike of Eustis, FL, Brother, Franklin P. Updike of Long Beach, CA, Son, David C. Updike of Babson Park, FL, Son, Peter M. Updike of Fruitland Park, FL, Daughter, Janice M. McCullen of Yalaha, FL and Eight Grandchildren and Seventeen Great-Grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at St. George Episcopal Church, The Villages, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
