Robert G. 'Bob' Sheppard

Robert G. 'Bob' Sheppard, 86, of Tavares, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he moved to Lake County in the late 1950's from Miami, Florida. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army during Korea. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Robert was a Master Gardener, volunteering with the Plant Clinic at the Lake County Agriculture Center. He was also on the Advisory Board for the Tavares Public Library. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, June N. Sheppard, Tavares, FL; daughter, Roberta Rose, Grand Island, FL; 2 step-daughters, Caren Lucas, Leesburg, FL, Charon Frost, Akron, OH; step-son, Michael Frost, Woodstock, GA; brother, William Sheppard, St. Augustine, FL; sister, Katherine Sheppard, Eustis, FL; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares.
