Dr. Robert B. Montgomery

Dr. Robert B. Montgomery, 79, of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born in East Saint Louis, IL., he moved to Mid-Florida Lakes in 1995 from Charleston, IL. He was a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a life member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Florida Craftsman, Mount Dora Art League, and a master gardener. Prior to moving to Florida he was a medical missionary. Dr. Montgomery was the founder of the Mid-Florida Lakes Glass Haus. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Montgomery, Leesburg, FL; three sons, Robert B. Montgomery, II, Berlin, Germany, Dr. Peter Montgomery, Lake St. Louis, MO, Jon Montgomery, Bartlett, IL; three daughters, Cynthia Cann, Alpharetta, GA, Elizabeth Hand, Broken Arrow, OK, Ann Murphy, S.Barre, VT; brother, Roger D. Montgomery, London; sister, Carol Reasor, Tavares, FL; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Bruce Allen White Montgomery Scholarship at Eastern Illinois University and Cornerstone Hospice is requested.
