Robert “Bob” Wayne Tootle, 62, of Tavares, Florida, passed away on July 6, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He died with his beloved wife, Barbara by his side. Bob was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Irene Tootle. Bob was a professional machinist who began his career in New Bedford at Brodeur Machine Company. He moved to Tavares in 2006 and was currently employed at G.W. Schults Tool Inc. of Tavares, FL.
Bob had an unmatched determined work ethic, a jack-of-all-trades skill set and was a mentor to many. He was proud to be a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora. He enjoyed driving his corvettes and motorcycle. Bob loved spending time with his family and his animals, especially his three dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Brockman Tootle; mother-in-law, Betty Palko, Hampton, VA; sister-in-law, Nancy (Bill) Brooks, Sugarloaf Key, FL; 2 brothers-in-law, George (Sandra) Palko, Hampton, VA, Kelse (Rowena) Palko, Savannah, GA and several nieces & nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Tootle. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.
