Richard L. "Dick" Dean, 81, of Mount Dora, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was raised in Alma, AR and spent 4 years in the service before permanently moving to Lake County in 1954. He was a Citrus Grower and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tavares. Dick served in the US Navy and in the US Air Force during Korea. He taught Sunday School for almost 50 years and was a deacon in the Baptist Church, presently at First Baptist Church, Tavares. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy E. "Dot" Dean, Mount Dora, FL; 2 daughters, JoAnn (Ben) Parker, New Smyrna Beach, FL, Sandy (Kent) Smith, Spartanburg, SC; 2 sisters, Marilyn Rusher, Wichita, KS, Madelyn McClure, Valrico, FL; and 3 grandchildren, Evan, Brent & Shelby Smith. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Tavares on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Kent Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 124 N.
