Richard Buryl Coulter

September 27, 1944 — December 9, 2024

Eustis, Florida

Richard Buryl Coulter, faithful husband and father, went peacefully on December 9, 2024 to bewith his Lord and Savior, Jesus. Born in Tacoma, Washington on September 27, 1944, Rich moved to Eustis, Florida in 2021 after having spent many years in Colorado as well as time in Idaho, Arizona, and Washington. Before his retirement, he served as a beloved teacher, counselor, and finally a school principal, a career he cherished and referred to as being the father of hundreds of kids. Stories abound of the countless kids Rich helped grow into successful adults. He truly touched numerous lives of students and staff members alike. Not only were his schools and students academically successful, but Rich’s unique and creative programs grew students socially and emotionally as well. On any given day he could be found laughing and encircled by his kids on the playground.

After retiring from education in 2006, Rich enjoyed his Christian counseling business where he met and guided many toward the healing touch of Christ. His family grew to include several of the people he drew so near to in counseling. Rich taught others to live one day at a time in Christ which was always his personal endeavor. As well as leading others to trust Jesus, Rich encouraged everyone in his sphere of influence to enjoy life. He spent many hours 4-wheeling, kayaking, and camping in Colorado with cherished friends and family. Richard was an active member of Calvary Chapel of the Lakes in Umatilla, Florida, where he found joy and fellowship.

Rich is survived by his devoted wife, Becca Coulter, and beloved daughter Riah Coulter. His loving family also includes children from his first marriage: sons Troy Coulter (wife Lisa and sons Brant and Evan) of Yelm, WA; Tev Coulter (son Casidhe and daughter Olivia) of Rainier, WA; and Travis Coulter (wife Kelly and daughters Madison and Kennedy) of Mount Vernon, WA and daughters Taycia Halterman (husband Chad, sons Landan and Connor and daughter Kennedy) of Yelm, WA and Tia Coulter (son Jordan and daughter Kassandra) of Yelm, WA. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Coulter (wife Lynda Coulter) of Yelm, WA, and numerous extended family members. His great-grandchildren include Noah, Lucas, Freya, Blake, Nova, Payton, Kayden, Sawyer, Cohen, and Cooper. His sons in Christ include Justin Coykendall and Justin Collins, both of Montrose, CO and his brothers in Christ include Faustino Munoz of Maricopa, AZ and the men of Calvary Chapel of the Lakes.
