Renate Adams (b. February 3, 1937) of Eustis FL, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at age 84. Born in Schleswig, Germany, she emigrated from Germany to the U.S. in 1950 with her mother and 3 of her younger siblings. She graduated from nursing school in Illinois in the late 1950’s, and worked as a Registered Nurse up until the late 1990’s. She married in 1960 in Waltham, MA. After living in Queens & Manhattan where 3 of her children were born, the family then made their home in Glen Rock, NJ, where she had her 4th child. After 30 years in Glen Rock, in 1997 she moved to Eustis, FL, where she lived until her passing. She is survived by her husband, John Q. Adams, Jr., Hamburg, NJ; son, John Q. Adams III, Kansas City, MO; 3 daughters, Christine Whitehead (husband John), Donna Adams, and Leslie Shanahan (husband Eamonn), Raleigh, NC; brother, Uwe Stehnike of Grant’s Pass, Oregon; sister, Irene Rosenberg, Cassia, FL and granddaughter Emma Whitehead, Raleigh, NC. Renate was pre-deceased by her siblings, Karin Ford and Jurgen Stehnike. Renate will be buried at Seminole Springs Cemetery, Eustis, alongside her mother.
