Rayburn J. "Ray" Mims, 72, of Umatilla, Florida passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020. Born and raised in Bonifay, Florida, until he moved to Lake County in 1967. Ray worked at Lakeside Memory Gardens of Eustis as a Sexton for over 18 years prior to his retirement. Ray was a true entertainer. He was a singer and showman at heart. Taking on the TCB motto as his own he carried on the legacy of Elvis with his performances. Ray was not a veteran himself but was thankful to those that did serve in the Armed Forces. Ray volunteered his time at the AMVETS, VFW, and BPOE organizations. He is survived by his Wife, Katherine L. Mims of Umatilla, FL; Sons, Jarrod Mims of Tennessee, and Lukas Aaron Mims of Eustis, FL; Daughter, Tina Louise Bowerman of Eustis, FL; Brother, Millard Franklin Mims of Spring, TX; Sisters, Lucille Champion of Glen Saint Mary, FL, Loujean Weaver of Leesburg, FL and Nettie Futch of Tavares, FL; 6 Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
