Ray W. Bryant, Jr., 55, of Umatilla, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Born in Titusville, Florida, he lived most of his adult life in the Umatilla area graduating from Umatilla High School class of 1985. He was the Sensei and owner of the Central Florida Karate Academy for over 30 years. Ray was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a volunteer with the Lake County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team, was an ambassador and US Coach for I.S.K.A. (International Sport Kickboxing Association), member of the Lake County Airboat Club, founder of Alee Academy in Eustis, and was a State, National and World Kickboxing Champion. His love for karate was only rivaled by his joy for the outdoors. Ray is survived by his loving wife Mouse Millner of Umatilla, FL; 3 sons, Dalton Bryant of Atlanta, GA, Dakota Bryant of Umatilla, FL, Doron Bryant of Umatilla, FL; daughter, Madeline Bryant of Mount Dora, FL; brother, George (Maggie) Bryant of Umatilla, FL; aunt, Jennie Louer of Umatilla, FL; nephew, Cody Bryant of Umatilla, FL; niece, Bella Bryant of Umatilla, FL. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at the Bryant Compound at 45445 State Road 19, Altoona, Florida 32702, on Saturday June 11, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
