Randall "Gene" Crawford

Randall "Gene" Eugene Crawford, 87, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. Born to the late Raymond & Lillian (Troutman) Crawford, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1980, then to Mount Dora in 1993. He was a Mortgage Broker in the banking industry and a volunteer fireman with the Evendale Fire Department in Cincinnati, Ohio before retiring. Gene was an avid baseball fan, always rooting for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Florida Gators. He loved golfing in his early years. In later years, he enjoyed playing bingo and painted the advertising windows for Triangle Bingo in Mount Dora, Florida. He will be missed by all of his family, friends and everyone at Triangle Bingo. Gene and his family send a very special thank you to his sister, Betty Sue, for donating her kidney to him so that he could enjoy life for an additional 24 years. The family is also grateful to Dr. Joseph W. Warren and the entire transplant team in Orlando, Florida. Gene is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Crawford of Mount Dora, FL; 2 sons, Randy (Shannon) Crawford of Cypress, TX; Timothy Crawford, of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Beth (Pete) Cox, of Richmond, IN; brother-in-law, Larry Best of Loveland, OH; sister, Betty Sue Lay of Versailles, IN; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
