Phyllis Ann Dandridge, 76, died at home in Mount Dora, FL on Monday, August 23, 2010 following a period of declining health and strength. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time, as we know it and is forever at home with the Savior she faithfully served. Phyllis was born July 24, 1934 in Cleveland, OH, to Frances and Sylvester Adkins. Phyllis attended Miami Dade Senior High School and later graduated from Rollins College in 1984. On October 14, 1950, Phyllis married Clifton Eugene Dandridge during their years together they experienced the changing scenes of life in joyous and fruitful companionship. Phyllis was a member of Life Community Church where she enjoyed teaching children. Phyllis lived in Eustis, FL and worked at United Telephone/Sprint until retiring in 1999. While working at Sprint, Phyllis was a long-standing member of the Speakers Bureau and gave many talks to community members on behalf of the company. Phyllis was a member of the local Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the local Toastmasters Organization. Phyllis concluded each talk with her favorite poem, Around The Corner by Charles Hanson Towne, for she felt everyone should remember friends near or afar.
