Phoebe C. Baker of Eustis passed away in her home at the age of 90 surrounded by her loved ones. Born January 9, 1933 in Jacksonville Florida, she spent her childhood in Starke, FL, where she met her husband and moved to Eustis, FL in the 1950's. Phoebe loved to travel, visiting friends and family but her absolute favorite thing to do was go to the casino and play those slots! Phoebe spent 75 of her 90 years being a caretaker in some capacity. She was 1 of 11 children and she helped raise half of them. She was a wife and mother, and she was a nurse both at the ER and the Dr. office. She did everything from birthing babies to just quietly holding a dying hand. Phoebe had a huge heart and loved unconditionally. Phoebe is survived by her daughter, Cindy; sister, Jeanie; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends that loved her much. Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 AT 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to BoysTown. Online Guestbook available at
