Pastor Paul Givens

Pastor Paul Givens, 80, of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Born in Headland, Alabama, he moved to Lake County in 1977 from Cranberry Township, PA. He pastored many churches located in Scottsboro, AL, Glenn Cliff, NH, Norvelt, PA Aultman, PA & Cranberry Township, PA before moving to Florida. Once in Florida he was pastor of Astatula Baptist Church and Associate Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church, Eustis before retiring. He is currently a member of Whitney Baptist Church, Leesburg. Paul served in the US Navy during Korea. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Givens, Leesburg, FL; 3 sons, David Paul Givens, Flintstone, GA, Jonathan Mark Givens, Lynchburg, VA, Andrew Lee Givens, Wildwood, GA; daughter, Deborah Ann Sherwood, Leesburg, FL; sister, Martha Jo Overhiser, Mount Dora, FL, 3 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. Services will be held at Whitney Baptist Church, Leesburg on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 3:30 PM. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 7:00 PM till 9:00 PM.
