Norman James "Jim" Washburn, 85, of Mount Dora, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Born in Lima, Ohio, he moved to Mount Dora in 1984 from McComb, Ohio. He was a heavy equipment operator & engineer. Jim was a member of the McComb VFW, Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18 and McComb Presbyterian Church. Jim served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1950-1954. He loved to fish, hunt and visit with his friends at the Bay Street McDonalds restaurant at Eustis. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary J. Washburn, Mount Dora, FL; son, Alvy Joe (Janice) Washburn, Mount Dora, FL; 2 daughters, Bethany (Gene) Newell, Umatilla, FL, Jackie Robinson, Mount Dora, FL; 2 brothers, John Washburn, Henderson, NV, Dean Washburn, Findlay, OH; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Robinson and sister, Patricia Burwell. All Services to be held at Hartley-Lehtomaa Funeral Home in McComb, Ohio.
