Myrtle D. Howell, 93, of Tavares, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023. Born in Keno, Kentucky, she moved to Tavares in 1996 from Union City, Indiana. Myrtle was raised Southern Baptist and grew up going to church every week with her family at Mount Union Baptist Church in Burnside, KY. She retired from Anchor Hocking, Winchester, IN as a shift supervisor after 40 years. After her, retirement, Myrtle stayed very acive, being a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband of 31 years, David Marshal, and her 2nd husband of 25 years, Carl Howell. She is survived by 3 sisters, Bonnie Stockton, New Castle, IN, Geraldine Baker, New Castle, IN, Elsie Ellison, Grand Island, FL; nephew, Chuck Wallen, Del Rio, TN. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 Noon till 1:00 PM. Interment will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
