Myrtle Maxine Driggers, 92, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Tavares, Florida. She was born on June 12, 1932, in Belgreen, Alabama and moved to Florida in 1938. A beloved preschool teacher known for her dedication and kindness, Maxine's passion for caring for children touched the lives of many throughout her life. In addition to her career, Maxine was an excellent cook and found joy in preparing meals for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of her children: Darrell Thomas (Linda) Driggers, Sandra Lynn Francis, and Kenneth Michael (Louise) Driggers. Her memory will be cherished by her siblings: Charles Liles, James Liles and Margie Freeman; her grandchildren: Heather, David, Sue Ann, Dwayne, Amanda, Austin, Anamarie, and great-grandchildren: Seamus, David, Kaydence, Noah, Mave, and Eric. She is preceded in death by her husband, David C. Driggers; mother, Hallie Haskins; father, Arthur Liles; brothers, Thomas Liles and Albert Liles; sisters, Bessie Salmon, Evelyn Whitham, Mabel Locke and Dorothy Ward. Services will be held at Mount Dora Church of Christ, 1801 N Donnelly St, Mount Dora, Florida, 32757, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM.
