Mildred "Pauline" Yowler

Mildred “Pauline” Yowler, 101, of Beloit, Wisconsin died on Monday, March 20, 2017. She was born on January 31, 1916 at New Paris, OH the daughter of Charles and Lola Mae (Banfield) Dunn. Pauline was a Laboratory Technician with Proctor and Gamble Beauty Products of Cincinnati, OH developing products including Prell and Head and Shoulders shampoos. She moved to Eustis, FL in 1976 from Cincinnati. Pauline married Frederick W. Yowler on Oct. 25, 1936. Pauline and Fred worked together as a team with 25+ years of volunteer public service to Floridians. By a City of Eustis Proclamation, January 20, 2011 was Pauline Yowler Day. Pauline was a strong pillar of the Eustis community and served on the Eustis Historic Preservation Board from its inception in 1995. In 1986 she was appointed to the Ferran Park Beautification Committee where she oversaw the fundraising for numerous park projects including Ferran Park Drive, adjacent parking, new fountain, walkways, landscaping, veteran’s memorial, and children’s playground. Pauline’s leadership of beautification projects earned recognition by the Lake County League of Women voters in 1988 and Lake County League of Cities in 1991. Pauline was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, Daughters of the Nile, Athaliah Temple No. 114, and Daughters of Mokanna. She demonstrated her community interests through leadership positions in organizations such as the Eustis Women’s Club, Azalea Garden Club, Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce, Eustis Main Street, Lake County Historical Museum, Lake County Horticultural Learning Center, and the Eustis Historical Museum and Preservation Society. Pauline was the driving force behind the establishment of the Eustis Citrus Museum which is the only free-standing museum dedicated solely to the citrus industry in Florida. She was awarded the Humanitarian Award by the Lake Eustis area Chamber of Commerce in 2008 for a lifetime of public service and civic achievements. Pauline was inducted into the Lake County Women’s Hall of Fame on January 18, 2011. She was queen/parade marshal in Eustis, Washington Celebration. Pauline is survived by her son: Fred A. (Betty) Yowler of Rockton, IL; grandchildren: Jeannie Yowler, Greg (Khristy) Yowler and Jim Yowler; great-grandchildren: Kristen Yowler and Aaron Yowler. Services to Celebrate Pauline’s Life will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 29th at 1:00 PM with Pastor Conley A. Zomermaand of First Presbyterian Church, Eustis officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon-1:00 PM before services. Graveside interment will follow at historic Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis directing.
