Michael Elmo Wilkes

Michael Elmo Wilkes was born in Memphis, TN on August 13, 1950. Raised as a Seventh-Day Adventist, he loved the Lord very much. He could often be heard quoting from the Bible about God's mercy and grace. Michael was a man who loved to laugh and lived life freely. To us, he was the Original Cheerios Kid, Rock-N-Roller, and “Trivia Master." We all have fond memories of seeing him laugh with all of his soul. He had a laugh that could bring the entire room to laughter along with him. During Football season, you couldn’t drag Mike away from his beloved Miami Dolphins. In his youth, he graduated from high school with honors and became a tile setter in south Florida for many years. Laying tile took its toll on Mike. So he decided to get off his knees and on to his feet to cook for various restaurants. He is preceeded in death by his father, Joseph Wilkes, Mother Louise Collins Wilkes, and two of his siblings, Julia Adelle Wilkes & DeLana Louise Wilkes. He is survived by his two daughters; Heather L. Kelle, and Mary S. Leary, and 3 siblings; Angela Read, Patrick Wilkes, and Dessie Romero. May Michael now Rest In Peace. Lord have mercy.
