Marjorie I. Smith

Marjorie I. Smith, Central Florida nursery owner, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2012 at the age of 90. Margie was born, grew up in Montverde, FL, the daughter of a farming family. She graduated from Clermont High School and worked in Orlando. She married Albert K. (Smitty) Smith in 1945. She was a homemaker, military wife and mother of three children. In the late 1970's they founded Smith's Nursery in Mascotte, where Margie was the bookkeeper, business manager and was in charge of taking care of customers for many years. She is survived by her Daughters - Judi (Bill) Mattison of Groveland, FL and Jennifer Ball of Mount Dora, FL; Son - Drew (Trayce) Smith of College Park, FL; Sister - Ouida Adair of Merritt Island, FL; Brother - Ralph McQuaig of Minneola, FL; Grandchildren - Jon (Lisa) Newcomer, Amanda Mattison, Kate Mattison( Matt Mewis), and Emily (Bob) Bumbolow; Great-Grandchildren - Jackson Newcomer, Abram Newcomer, Chloe Mewis, and Drew Mewis. Funeral services will be held at Montverde United Methodist Church, Montverde on Thursday, August 02, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Montverde Cemetery, Montverde.
