Sorrento, Florida

Maria Antonia Uvalle, affectionally known as "Ma", a cherished matriarch of Sorrento, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Alamo, Texas, Maria brought warmth and love to all who knew her when she moved to Sorrento in 1968 from Edinburg, Texas. Maria is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Margaret Uvalle of Sorrento, Martha Villarreal of Apopka, and Linda Velez of Tampa. She is also survived by her three sons: Roy Uvalle of Sorrento, Ray Uvalle of Apopka, and Victor Uvalle of Tangerine. In addition, she leaves behind her brother, Augustine Reyes of McAllen, Texas, and her three sisters: Senaida Sandoval, Estella Avila, and Guadalupe Leija, all from Alamo, Texas. Maria was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and delighted in the company of her five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
