Lynn Adair Howley of Leesburg, FL passed away on July 6, 2010, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. She was born in Elmhurst, Illinois to Leonard and Vernita Witter on March 14, 1945. She and her husband, Richard Howley, were married and moved to Orlando, FL in 1966. In 1973 they moved to Leesburg and ran a successful small family business, The Spillway Tavern and Park, for 37 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Richard; her four children, Rebecca Brandt (Jon) of Fruitland Park, Mary Souliere (Jeff) of Apopka, Joseph Howley (Carol) of Apopka, and Katherine Howley of Charlotte, NC; her four grandchildren, Shanon, William, Emma, and Chloe; her siblings, Kay Hess (George) of Orlando, Leonard Witter (Jane) of Albuquerque, NM, Dr. Frank Witter (Karen) of Pensacola; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynn was the eternal optimist. She gave boundless, unconditional love and encouragement to her family and friends, and possessed a silly sense of humor that really emerged when she was around Kay “Tez”. She loved her pets and adopted numerous homeless cats and dogs over the years. She was a voracious reader, especially of mystery novels, and she enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with her family. She was a supremely kind, gentle soul who brought joy and laughter to every occasion and although we will miss her every day, we know that she is dancing in paradise. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 8:30 AM. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or to Cornerstone Hospice. Online Guestbook available at
