Louis Arthur Johnson, 75 of Eustis, passed away June 12, 2014. He was born September 11, 1938 in Flint, MI. He moved to Florida in 1994 from Davison, MI. He retired from Buick Motor Division, General Motors Corporation after 35 years of dedicated service. Louis served his country in the U.S. Army. He was of the Catholic Faith and a loyal member and usher at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, loved the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He loved to play cards with his friends and like anyone, he hated to lose. This amazingly, tough, strong and tenacious man decided his journey should go elsewhere. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Johnson with whom he had a 52 year love filled marriage which blessed them with 2 daughters, Amy (Jerry) Fort of Bushnell, FL, and Carrie Johnson of Eustis, FL. He leaves behind his sister, Elizabeth Murray of Montgomery, AL, 2 Grandchildren Matthew Johnson of Gainesville, FL and Alyssa Rittenhouse of Bushnell, FL, Sister-in-law, Linda L. Miller of Daytona Beach, FL, and many nieces, nephews and family friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories and he never met a stranger. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 2-5 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, on Monday June 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
