Lois Voyles Ellington

August 2, 1924 — October 3, 2013

Lois Voyles Ellington, 89, of Ellenton, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013. Born in Anderson, South Carolina, she moved to Ellenton in 2001 from Avon Park, Florida. She and her late husband, Rev. Thomas Ellington served many churches across Florida prior to his death in 1983. She was a Secretary for her Baptist Association, was a member of the Florida Baptist Convention, the WMU and First Baptist Church of Palmetto. Lois is survived by her 2 daughters, Tonda E. (Jim) Bost, Franklin, NC, Melissa E. (Jeff) Higgins, Palmetto, FL; brother, Harold Voyles, Dallas, NC; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will have a celebration of Lois's Life at Melissa's House, 1720 8th Street West, Palmetto on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2-4 PM. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5595 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
