Lester Welton Humphrey, 77, of Tavares, FL died on Friday, September 4, 2009. Born in Bainbridge, GA, he moved to Tavares in 1947 where he met and married the love of his life, Ramona Huchingson. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War, stationed at Key West. Lester began his employment with Minute Maid/Coca Cola Foods in 1958 working his way up from the bottom to a supervisory position and Department Manager before retiring after 32 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, crosswords and traveling with his wife, having visited all 50 states, many times with grandchildren accompanying them. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Gator Fan! He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ramona I. Humphrey; 2 sons, W. Lee (Felecia) Humphrey of Tavares, FL, Steven R. Humphrey of Dallas, GA; daughter, Kay (Ken) Henderson of Tavares, FL; brother, Wesley Humphrey of Mount Dora, FL; sister, Bertie Kost of Tavares, FL; 7 grandchildren, Paul & Jason Bellavance, Kaylee, Taylor and Aaron Will Humphrey, Lauren Lovell and Weston Humphrey; and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.
