Leo R. Pope, 89, of Eustis, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. Born in Plainfield, Connecticut, he worked in Quality Control for General Electric and served in the US Army during World War II. He loved to paint pictures and was a gifted artist. Although not being trained in painting or wood sculpting, Leo was a talented woodworker. Leo and his wife rode their motorcycles all over the country, only giving them up when they moved to Eustis in 1985 from Lee, Massachusetts. They loved square dancing and traveling the world. Leo is survived by his wife of 67 years, Muriel Pope, Eustis, FL; 2 daughters, Jeannie (Donald) LeMire, Savoy, MA, Sandra (David) Wood, Pittsfield, MA; 2 grandchildren, Nichole (Keith) Perrino, Tanya Joe Joe; 1 great-grandchild, Sophia Perrino.
