Lela M. Jones

Lela M. Jones, 99, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022. Born in Umatilla, Florida, her family moved to Kansas where she spent her early years of life. She then moved back to Umatilla, Florida and she graduated in 1941 from Umatilla High School. Following high school Lela worked at the Waterman Hospital in Eustis as an elevator operator, and it was there where she met her husband, Mike Jones. Lela and Mike had married and moved to Dade City, FL, they moved back to Mount Dora in 1955. Lela was an Insurance Agent and was a member of Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis since 1955. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a Sunday School Director during her time at Bay Street. She is survived by her granddaughter, Dawn M. Reed of Bakersville, NC; 4 great-grandchildren, Amber, Josh, Jessica, Kati; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Colton, Kenzie, Kendryk, Jaycee, Kollyn; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends, Lela is preceded in death her by husband, Mike Jones and her son, Larry Jones. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
