Lawrence "Larry" "Butch" I. Kennedy III, 80, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he moved to Leesburg in 2002 from Jupiter, Florida. Prior to Larry's retirement he was an engineer working with Bechtel and Florida Power and Light. He was a member of the Mid Florida Lakes Boat Club, past President of the MFL Home Owners Association, he called Bingo, and was overall very active in the MFL Community. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He was also called “Lucky Larry” by his friends on Poker night. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Betty Kennedy; and brother, Paul Kennedy. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cynthia Kennedy of Leesburg, FL; daughter, Amy Lopez of White Plains, NY; son, Derek E. Kennedy of Miami, FL; brother, Carl Kennedy of Jackson, SC; grandchildren, Dakota Lopez, Austin Lopez, and Noah Lopez; and by numerous extended family and friends.
