Lake County lost one of its most beloved citizen on Sunday, November 6th, Kyleen Fischer, 72 of Umatilla. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. She served her community as a Lake County School Board member for six terms – 24 years – including several terms as chairman and vice-chairman. She worked at LifeStream Behavioral Center for 25 years. Kyleen was a Criminal Justice Addictions Specialist and served as a program supervisor for Life Stream’s TASC and Juvenile TASC programs. She frequently represented LifeStream as a court- and government liaison, and was often coordinating substance abuse prevention activities in our community. She was the founding member of Be Free Lake, formerly known as the Safe Climate Coalition of Lake County. Kyleen was the former chairman of the five-county Circuit Juvenile Justice Committee, and served on the Lake County Children’s Services Council, Golden Triangle YMCA Board, Alee Academy Board, The Ruth House Board, and countless other government and nonprofit boards and committees. Kyleen touched many lives during this time with the Lake County Schools, LifeStream and in the community. Kyleen attended church at The Cross, Mount Dora. Kyleen is survived by her, son, Billy (Wendy) Fischer and granddaughter Summer Fischer, Umatilla, FL; daughter, Leah Fischer (John Pace), Eustis, FL; and partner, Jake Farley, Astatula, FL. Services will be held at Calvary Chapel of the Lakes, Umatilla on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Umatilla. The family will receive friends at Calvary Chapel of the Lakes, Umatilla on Friday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 PM.
